Headcanon time: John goes through a really ridiculous growth spurt during the 3 year span, so he’s way taller than everyone else when they finally meet up. This doesn’t bother Dave at all until John decides to pick on him for it at every opportunity. When he eventually catches up to John he lords it over him as much as he can, but then John points out that Dave’s shoes are like 2 centimeters higher than his and that Dave’s not taller after all. 

Also, I think it’d be cute if Rose grew her hair out. I’ve always seen Rose as the really slender/petite type, while I think Jade would be a lot more curvy.
